Meet Akarshak — The Heart Behind Namastey
Hi, I’m Akarshak (Ash) Gera. Namastey was born from nostalgia — a longing for the handcrafted metalware my grandparents used every day in India. Those pieces symbolised purity, health, and connection — things that often fade in today’s fast-paced world.
After moving to Australia in 2013, I wanted to recreate that sense of connection — between tradition and modernity, between craft and culture, between India and Australia.
What began as a small passion project with a few handcrafted copper and brass pieces has grown into a celebration of India’s living artistry — from timeless metalware to handpainted décor, and soon, a broader range of handmade treasures that carry the same spirit of authenticity and care.
Most days, you’ll still find me hand-packing orders in Sydney — because at Namastey, everything we do comes straight from the heart.
